For Adult Children

Calling about Mom or Dad?

Half our calls start with "I'm worried about my mother." You're not overstepping — you're early enough to help. Here's how it usually works.

You call us first

We'll listen to the situation — the diagnosis, the finances, the family dynamics — and tell you honestly what's urgent and what can wait.

We meet everyone

With your parent's consent, we meet where they're comfortable: our office, their home, or the facility. Family members can join by video.

Your parent stays in charge

Our client is the elder, and their dignity leads. We plan with them, not around them — which is exactly why the plans hold up.

Our Promises

Practiced patience.

Appointments are 90 minutes, minimum

No one absorbs Medicaid rules in a rushed half hour. We schedule the time it takes and repeat anything, as often as needed, cheerfully.

Everything in writing, in large print

Every plan comes with a plain-English summary — 16-point type, one page per decision, refrigerator-ready.

Flat fees, quoted before we begin

You'll never receive a surprise invoice from us. Ever. Fixed fees are quoted in writing at the first meeting.

We come to you

Home, hospital, rehab, or assisted living — no extra charge, anywhere in Sarasota and Manatee counties.

Your Attorney

Evelyn Grace

Founder · Board Certified in Elder Law

Evelyn became an elder law attorney the year her own grandmother's savings were nearly lost to a nursing-home spend-down no one had explained. Twenty years later, she has guided more than 3,000 Gulf Coast families through the same maze — with the patience of someone who remembers exactly how the confusion feels from the kitchen table.

She is one of fewer than 500 attorneys nationwide who are both Board Certified in Elder Law (NELF) and a Certified Elder Law Attorney mediator.

Kind Words

From the families.

"Evelyn saved Dad's house and got Mom qualified for care we were told was impossible. Then she sent a one-page summary in big print that Dad reads better than I do."

— Susan T., daughter · Medicaid planning

"She drove to the rehab center twice, never once looked at her watch, and drew the whole plan on one sheet of paper. My brother in Ohio joined by video. Worth every penny, and we knew the pennies up front."

— The Hendricks family · Guardianship alternative

"A 'financial advisor' had talked my father into signing things he didn't understand. Golden Hour unwound all of it in six weeks."

— Marcus D., son · Exploitation recovery
