Phoenix Bankruptcy Attorneys

Debt has a sunset.

Filing bankruptcy isn't the end of your story — it's the legally protected beginning of the next one. Most of our clients are debt-free in under four months, with credit rebuilding from day one.

Garnishments stop Calls stop Foreclosure pauses You breathe again

The Automatic Stay

The moment you file, the pressure stops.

Federal law calls it the automatic stay. Our clients call it the first full night of sleep in years. Effective immediately upon filing:

Wage garnishment

Your full paycheck comes home again — often within one pay cycle.

Collection calls

Creditors must stop contacting you. All of them. That day.

Foreclosure & repossession

Sales are paused, giving us time to protect your home or vehicle.

Lawsuits & levies

Pending collection suits freeze. Bank levies stop reaching your account.

Filed before 10 a.m.? Protection is typically in place the same day.

Your Options

Two paths to the same sunrise.

At your free review, we'll run the numbers on both — plus non-bankruptcy options — and tell you plainly which saves you more.

Most common

Chapter 7 — The Clean Slate

Eliminates most unsecured debt — credit cards, medical bills, personal loans — in roughly 90–120 days.

  • Arizona exemptions protect most homes, cars & retirement
  • Typically 3–4 months start to discharge
  • Flat attorney fee, payment plans available

Chapter 13 — The Catch-Up Plan

A structured 3–5 year repayment that stops foreclosure and lets you cure mortgage or car arrears while keeping everything.

  • Save a home from foreclosure sale
  • Restructure car loans, sometimes below balance
  • Protect co-signers on personal debts

Maybe Neither

Sometimes negotiation, statute-of-limitations defense, or simply being "judgment proof" beats filing. If that's you, we'll say so — for free.

  • Debt settlement negotiation
  • Debt-collection defense in court
  • Honest "don't file" advice when it fits

Myth vs. Fact

What you've heard is mostly wrong.

Fact: Arizona's exemptions protect up to $400,000 of home equity, a vehicle, retirement accounts, and household goods. The overwhelming majority of our Chapter 7 clients keep every single thing they own.

Fact: Most clients see scores rise within 12–18 months of discharge — because crushing balances and missed payments disappear. Many qualify for car loans immediately and mortgages in as little as two years.

Fact: Bankruptcy filings are technically public but practically invisible — no newspaper listing, no notice to your employer, no sign on your lawn. Your creditors are told. Your neighbors aren't.

Fact: Medical bills, divorce, and layoffs — not extravagance — drive most filings. Bankruptcy exists in the Constitution for a reason. Airlines use it. So can the people they fly.
